Cheat Code
Cheat Code transforms stale or sloppy MIDI input into new musical ideas with a simple free effect: level up today...
Designed by Ableton Certified Trainer Noah Pred, Cheat Code combines multiple forms of real-time quantization to transform any MIDI input, no matter how poorly played, into convincingly musical output.
With a variety of quantization rates along with triplet options, adjustable swing, performative hold and transposition, and nearly 70 scales selectable scales in any key (and fully scale aware in Live 12), Cheat Code easily elevates nearly any performance.
No replacement for the skills of a real musician, Cheat Code can at least remove the worst mistakes from a poor performance - in real-time. So while it’s clearly no substitute for 10,000 hours of practice, it might fool a casual listener into thinking you’ve put in at least 100.
Optimized for Push with full Info View annotations, it’s easy to learn and use: just place it prior to an instrument on a MIDI track and start playing via any connected MIDI controller – or, experiment with manipulating input from triggered MIDI clips played through it.
How to use Cheat Code:
- Place Cheat Code on a MIDI track before an instrument.
- Connect your MIDI controller.
- Arm the track for MIDI input.
- Start playing and enjoy the transformed output.
Requires: Ableton Live 10.1.x or higher running Max for Live 8.1.x on Mac or PC.
